Personal exhibition by Margarita Kotova
Niasvizh. Running of the Centuries.

From October 27, 2017 to January 15, 2018 in the Great Exhibition Hall of the Palace Ensemble.
The exhibition represents more than 70 works created in the last 16 years in various patchwork techniques.
Margarita Kotova was born in 1942 in Zaslavl (Minsk region, Belarus). Graduated from the Belarusian State University, the faculty of philology. Worked in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Skaryna National Science and Information centre. Her creative biography began in 2001 with the opening of the picturesque world of patchwork art.

Looking for inspiration Margarita Kotova turns to mythology and folklore, biblical themes and innovatory art of the avant-garde. Margarita has expressed herself as an amazing master of textile still life. Her impressive works with soft relief contours were created in the multi-layered quilting technique. She possesses creative versatility: the painter is a master of panel painting, articles of women’s clothing and various accessories. Unique colouring and the right composition decision are achieved through a harmonious combination of fabrics, and also through various colour and geometry decisions.

But the main thing is that each work becomes a part of the painter’s soul, and Margarita Kotova strives to share her positive view of the world with the viewer.
