Alla Matyushevskaya

Alla Matyushevskaya

On March 15, Alla Matyushevskaya's works exhibition opened to visitors in the smaller exhibition room of Radziwill Palace in Nesvizh. Alla Matyushevskaya, the artist and animation film director, is a veteran of the Belarusian animation.

The Belarusian animation panorama is inconceivable without the original and unique talent of the film artist Alla Matyushevskaya. She is a master of various skills including the style of children's drawings in her film The Soldier's Spoon, her deep penetration in Mark Chagall’s visual thinking in her film Mark Chagall, The Beginning, and the subtle sense of the Renaissance in her film Dante. Beatrice.

The exhibition presents Alla Matyushevskaya's sketches, that became the basis of the National Film Studio Belarusfilm’s collections, and character images from almost two dozen cartoons, reflecting the author's creative activities, and, finally, film frames; many of her works were awarded prizes at international film festivals for their artistic solutions.

The exhibition is naturally supplemented and enriched with a series of optical illusions based on the presented films’ frames and characters, as well as thematic installations and a photo display.

The exhibition is complemented with an on-screen retrospective of Alla Matyushevskaya's best films.
