The Non-Participle Construction

The Non-Participle Construction

On February 1, 2023, the artistic association International Guild of Masters, St. Petersburg, and the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Niasvizh opened a stunningly imaginative and meaningful exhibition of author dolls titled The Non-Participle Construction. The dolls' authors are members of the art group Girl with a Paddle, managed by its artistic director Irina Yuryevna Moskvina.

This exhibition is presented to a wide range of readers in the smaller exhibition hall of Nesvizh Palace. Right, the visitors would be rather readers, than viewers, because the Construction refers to the Russian Classical Literature.

The mission of the project is to present to its readers, or visitors, the lively, reverent, tender and hard features of the literature, that is the real side of it. St. Petersburg artists have created a number of art dolls, objects, graphic compositions that show, tell, depict Russian writers of the 19th and the 20th centuries. They show the writers’ most unexpected, various and non-parade sides. The writers come out to the audience without embellishment, with their vices, secret passions, doubts and weaknesses. Every object was made with a great love and respect.

Even those who are far from the literary theme would learn a lot of new and exciting things. And, for sure, returning home, they would want to compare their impressions with the original sources. When they open their books, they would read them in a completely different way, without a sense of coercion, obligation or boredom, which is the main goal of the exhibition Non-Participle Construction.

The exhibition project is open from 01.02.2023 to 28.05.2023
