The Reflections of Time and Faith
The exhibition Reflections of Time and Faith will be open from April 16 to June 30, 2021 in the Smaller Exhibition Hall and the Golden Chamber of the Palace Ensemble. It presents items dating back to the 16th through the early 20th centuries, which reveal religious themes and remind of the period when the Radziwill's Nesvizh was one of the centers of the Catholic Church in Belarus.
The Smaller Exhibition Hall presents Italian engravings of biblical motives, icons made in the manner typical of the Belarusian painting, wooden sculptures of saints, liturgical clothes with Slutsk sash inserts, and commemorative medals with the images of Roman Popes. The Golden Chamber part of the exhibition features Books dating back to the 18th and the 19th centuries. Some of them were published at the Jesuit collegium’s printing house in Nesvizh; they include festive sermons and a poetic presentation of the Bible. Also noteworthy is a handwritten treatise from the library of the former Bernardine monastery in Nesvizh.
The exhibition items have been provided by the Grodno State Museum of the History of Religion.
Exhibition ticket prices are 2.00 BYN for adults and 1.00 BYN for schoolchildren and students.
The books are presented in the Museum's main exposition for the attention of all visitors of the Palace Ensemble.
